SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir police on Sunday claimed to have recovered a huge cache of weapons from Dhand Taad area of Karna in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
A police spokesman in a statement said that acting upon specific information a search operation was conducted by Kupwara Police and Army in the Dhani,Taad of PS Karna area.
“During the search operation, huge cache of following Arms and Ammunition were recovered 05 Ak 47 rifles with 06 Magazines and 07 Pistols (9 Magazines) along with ammunition,” said the spokesman.
“A case FIR No 19/2021 u/s 7/25 IA Act has been registered in PS Karna and investigation took up,” he said, adding that some suspects have also been taken into custody to ascertain the facts and to conclude the investigation on merits.
“The timely recovery of a huge cache of arms and ammunition has thwarted any possible untoward incident in the otherwise peaceful region and has scuttled the nefarious plans of militant outfits to try derailing peace and harmony,” said the spokesman.
