Weather Improves Across Kashmir After Six Days

SRINAGAR: People heaved a sigh of relief following improvement in the weather conditions across Kashmir after six days on Monday.

Bright sunshine was seen in Jammu and Kashmir after a snowfall and rain.

“Weather is likely to remain dry during the next 48 hours in J&K and Ladakh with the minimum temperatures likely to drop by a few notches during this period while the maximum temperatures are expected to rise,” an official of the MET department said.

Gulmarg in north Kashmir was the coldest place in the Valley where the minimum temperature was minus 6.2 degrees.

Srinagar, the summer capital of the J&K recorded a low of 1.4 while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of 4.0 degrees Celsius.

The night temperature in Pahalgam – the famous tourist place settled at a low of 0.7 degrees.

Kokernag town recorded a low of 2.6 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of 0.4 degrees Celsius last night.

Jammu city recorded 11.3 degrees Celsius, Katra 9.8, Batote minus 5.9, Banihal recorded 6.3 and Bhaderwah recorded 4.1 degrees Celsius as the night’s lowest temperatures.
