SRINAGAR: Police on Friday claimed to have arrested two LeT militant associates in north Kashmir’s Hajin town of Bandipora district.
A police spokesman in a statement said that acting on specific information Bandipora police along with 13 RR and 45 BN CRPF apprehended two militant associates of proscribed outfit LET, in a joint operation at Bonikhan Mohalla area of Hajin town and recovered arms, ammunition from their possession which includes two live hand grenades and eight live rounds of AK 47.
“They have been identified as Ghulam Mohi- Ud -din Khan son of Nazir Ahmad Khan a resident of Paribal Hajin and Riyaz Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Ahad Bhat a resident of Bonikhan Mohalla Hajin,” said the spokesman.
“On preliminary enquiry, it was revealed that the accused were associated with LeT outfit and were providing shelter, logistics and other material support to an active militant of LET in Sumbal and Hajin area,” he said.
“In this regard Case FIR No. 16/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in P/S Hajin and further investigation has been taken up,” said a police spokesman in a statement.
