SRINAGAR: delegation of ‘Peoples Alliance for Gupkar declaration’ led by Omar Abdullah on Friday visited Kargil and held meetings with local leadership there.
Reports said that People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration leaders Omar Abdullah, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, Nasir Aslam Wani, Muzafar Shah and Waheed-ur-Rehman Para arrived in Drass on Friday early morning to meet local leaders of the region.
This is the first such delegation of J&K politicians visiting Kargil after the abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of the erstwhile state.
As per reports, the delegation is meeting Kargil leadership to discuss the post-August 5 situation in the border town and seek their support to the vision of the Gupkar alliance.
Taking to social networking site Twitter, Omar Abdullah wrote “Warmly received by the people of Drass, who in one voice endorsed the agenda of the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration.”
