Pramod Jain, Chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir State Water Resources Regulatory Authority (JKSWRRA), met Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan Jammu on Tuesday.
Jain apprised Lt Governor about the steps taken by the Authority for the efficient management of the water resources of J&K.
Lt Governor stressed the need for ensuring judicious, equitable and sustainable management, allocation and utilization of water resources and the need to generate public awareness in this regard.
Prof Nazeer Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), also met Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu, Chancellor of the University, at the Raj Bhavan.
Prof Ahmed apprised Lt. Governor about various issues of academic and administrative importance relating to the Main and Off-site campuses and status of filling up of vacant posts of staff.
Lt Governor emphasised high importance of continuous up-gradation of teaching methods and achieving tangible outcomes in all the research areas.
Meanwhile, a delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), also met Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan.
The delegation led by Ravinder Raina, comprising of former Minister, Shakti Parihar and other party functionaries put forth a range of public importance issues including construction of Border bunkers and strengthening of VDCs.
Lt Governor urged them to continue their sustained endeavours for promoting public welfare.
A Centre Government’s Advisory Committee led by its Chairman Sanjay Mitra, also met Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan.
The committee comprising of Arun Goyal and Giriraj Prasad discussed various important issues with the Lt Governor regarding the distribution of assets and liabilities between the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
