One person died while one person was injured in two different road accidents across the valley while fire damaged a building in Srinagar, a police statement said on Wednesday.
A load carrier bearing registration number JK22/3640 hit a motor cycle bearing chassis number MBLIA05EEA9C 14391 driven by Imtiyaz Ahmed Bhat son of Wali Mohammad resident of Baskochan at Malikbugh, Shopian, resulting in injuries to motorcyclist. The injured was shifted to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar where he succumbed to his injuries, the police statement said.
The statement added that a motorcycle hit and injured a pedestrian Usman Mohammad Parray son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Zazna, Ganderbal. He was shifted to hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, fire broke out in a building belonging to a local Masjid Shareef at Choudary Bagh Rainawari resulting in complete damage to 2nd storey of the building in which a private school is located. Besides, 07 shops located in the ground floor of the building got damaged. Fire was brought under control with the help of police and fire tenders, the statement further said.
