SRINAGAR: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) a ‘Maharatna’ Public Sector Enterprise is recruiting for Engineer Trainee positions in 2024 across Electrical, Electronics, Civil, and Computer Science disciplines through GATE 2024. The online application at the POWERGRID website is tentatively scheduled from January 16, 2024 to February 18, 2024.
Vacancies will be notified before commencement of online registration. Reservations will be as per government directives. Candidates should have a valid GATE 2024 score in relevant papers. The upper age limit is 28 years as on December 31, 2023. The education qualification required for eligibility is BE/BTech/BSc (Engg) in the relevant branch with minimum 60 per cent marks. Relaxations and concessions on age, qualification marks, and application fee will be provided as per government norms.
The selection process involves GATE 2024 marks, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The qualifying percentage in the interview is 40 per cent for UR/EWS and 30 per cent for reserved categories. The final merit list will be based on 85 per cent weightage to GATE marks, 3 per cent to Group Discussion and 12 per cent to Interview.
The selected candidates will get a basic pay of Rs.40,000/- during training and Rs.50,000/- on absorption with perks and allowances based on policies. The selected candidates will be required to execute a service agreement bond to successfully
complete the prescribed training period and thereafter serve the organization for at least three years.
