Kashmir Conman Arrested In Odhisa Married Seven Women Since 2018

SRINAGAR: Once upon a time, in the quaint village of Neulpur in Jajpur district, Odisha, a 37-year-old Kashmiri man named Sayed Ishaan Bukhari was leading a double life that would leave the entire nation in shock. The saga began when the Odisha Police Special Task Force (STF) received a tip-off that unravelled a web of deception, forgery, and romantic entanglements.

Sayed Ishaan Bukhari, alias Ishaan Bukhari, alias Dr Ishaan Bukhari, was not your ordinary man from Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir. He had managed to impersonate a neuro specialist, an Army doctor, an officer in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), a close associate of high-ranking National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials, and more. The intricate details of his deceit were revealed as the STF Inspector General JN Pankaj addressed the media, laying bare the astonishing extent of Bukhari’s activities.

Armed with forged documents, including medical degree certificates from prestigious institutions like Cornell University in the USA and the Canadian Health Services Institute, Bukhari had successfully fooled people across various states in India. His charm and elusive identity allowed him to marry at least six to seven women from different parts of the country, including Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Odisha. His romantic escapades extended beyond matrimony, as he engaged in relationships with multiple women, portraying himself as a highly accomplished and internationally educated doctor.

The arrest in Neulpur was not just about apprehending a conman; it was about dismantling an entire facade built on fake degrees, affidavits, bonds, ATM cards, blank cheques, Aadhaar cards, and visiting cards. The accused, living in Odisha since 2018, had carefully crafted an image that extended beyond odhisa.

As the investigation unfolded, the STF revealed that Bukhari was not a stranger to legal trouble. The Kashmir Police had been on his trail, seeking him in connection with cases of cheating and forgery. A non-bailable warrant had been issued against him, adding another layer to the enigma surrounding this elusive figure.

While the possibility of his connections to the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) raised concerns, Inspector General JN Pankaj clarified that no direct evidence had been found during the initial investigation. The unfolding drama hinted at potential ties to anti-national elements, prompting a joint team comprising police from Punjab, Kashmir, and Odisha to conduct further interrogations and unveil the full extent of Bukhari’s activities.

The story of Sayed Ishaan Bukhari, the Kashmiri man who impersonated a PMO official, a neurosurgeon, and an Army doctor, is not just a tale of deception; it is a riveting narrative that explores the intricacies of human deceit, the vulnerabilities of trust, and the lengths to which one can go in pursuit of a fabricated life.
