SRINAGAR: Students with disabilities can avail of a scholarship that has a deadline of October 31, 2022.
It is an initiative of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of India to promote quality education among disabled students who are pursuing studies at the graduate, postgraduate and diploma levels. The key objective of the scholarship is to recognize and promote quality education amongst students with disabilities by providing them with full financial support.
Interested candidates must have the eligibility to pursue studies at the Graduate, postgraduate and diploma level in notified institutions of excellence in education and also have more than 40 per cent disability and a valid certificate.
The applicants will receive the benefits of Tuition Fees and Non-refundable Charges Payable to the Institute; reimbursement of expenses for the purchase of a computer with accessories for Rs 30,000 (one-time grant), reimbursement of expenses for the purchase of aids and assistive devices for Rs 30,000 (one-time grant), a maintenance allowance for hostellers Rs 3,000 per month and maintenance Allowance for day scholars: Rs 1500 per month and also book and stationary Rs 5,000 per annum
The documents required for this programme is the photo of the applicant, certificate of previous academic marksheet, age proof certificate.
