Information Revealed Through RTI Has Cleared Doubts: Desh Baghat University

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Para-Medical Council, Government Medical College Jammu, has accepted that they have received the compliance report from Desh Bhagat University (Mandi Gobindgarh), Punjab against the letter vide JKPMC/OUTSIDE/5615-5626 issued on March 14, 2022.

Under the Right to Information Act 2005, they have accepted that, as per the policy of Jammu and Kashmir, the paramedical council shall register the paramedical and nursing students (degree/diploma/certificate) of Desh Bhagat University (Mandi Gobindgarh) and admitted that such candidates who have taken training from paramedical institutes situated outside the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, which are duly recognized by/affiliated with a paramedical council/state nursing council/respective state government/universities recognized by UGC.

Desh Bhagat University Chancellor Dr Zora Singh, according to a statement issued by the university, said that Desh Bhagat University is doing its work with full honesty and integrity, but now the Jammu and Kashmir Paramedical Council has also accepted and clarified that the paramedical and nursing students of our university will be registered because Desh Bhagat University is approved from the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Indian Nursing Council (INC).

Desh Bhagat University is also approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and Desh Bhagat University’s law programmes of LLB, BA-LLB and LLM are approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). Desh Bhagat University is also accredited by NAAC. He further said that now the misconceptions of all those who had any doubts would have been cleared.

Dr Zora Singh said that Desh Bhagat University has been contributing diligently to the field of education for many years and continued to do this work even further.
