SRINAGAR: The traffic on the 270-km Jammu-Srinagar national highway was suspended on Monday following mudslides and shooting stones at Dewal near Samroli.
An official from the traffic department said that the Srinagar-Jammu highway has been closed due to landslides at Dewal near Samroli in Udhampur.
The closure of the highway left dozens of vehicles stranded at different places, the officials said.
“The traffic movement will be allowed after the road is cleared,” he said, adding that men and machinery have been pressed into the service to clear the road.
