MeT Predicts Light To Moderate Snowfall In Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The meteorological department (MeT) on Saturday predicted light to moderate snowfall in Kashmir from next week.

Sonam Lotus, Director of Meteorological Department, said, “light to moderate snowfall is expected during December 4, 5 (Probability of occurrence as on date >50%).”

Srinagar, the summer capital of J&K recorded 0.4 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature while Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded minus 1.0 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

The night temperature in Gulmarg – the famous tourist resort settled at a low of minus 1.0 degrees while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of minus 0.3 degrees Celsius.

Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 0.5 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of minus 0.4 degrees Celsius last night.

Jammu city recorded 10.3, Katra 9.6, Batote 4.9, Banihal 1.4 and Bhaderwah 2.8 as the minimum temperatures.
