SRINAGAR: A group of Sikh volunteer youth has played a major role in the cremation of Coid19 cases in Kashmir. Named United Sikh Forum (USF), the group appears every time there is a Covid19 fatality from non-Muslim faith.
It has cremated 78 dead bodies including four soldiers and eight non-locals ever since the Covid19 started sending body bags out of hospitals, a local news gatherer KNO has reported. Of them, 29 were cremated in the second wave from April 2021.
Manmeet Singh, the president of United Sikh Forum, said that keeping in view of the situation, the group decided to gear up and help the families who are in need. “We have been helping the needy people by providing them with food and other related material during the lockdown period,” Singh was quoted saying.
