Dispute With Bhabi Led Him To Stage His Own Disappearance

SRINAGAR: Police reported an interesting instance from Udhampur involving a person staging his own disappearance.

Panjabu, a resident of Junglegali came with a complaint stating that his son had been missing under suspicious circumstances and his clothes were found adjacent to a particular path. Police Post Tikri registered a missing report.

As the police party minutely inspected the spot where his clothes were found, they found no evidence suggesting any kind of struggle. Quickly, kidnapping and murder were ruled out.

The police team tracked his location by utilizing human and technical intelligence and finally traced him in Khalda, Sukal Gali area, locate don the Udhmapur Reasi border. He was rounded up.

As the questioning started, he broke down and confessed that he had staged his disappearance by pretending that he was kidnapped or murdered by his sister in law namely Shano, wife of Santhoku Ram. The two brothers have some dispute and recently she had filed a civil suit against him. He also had another issue – he had borrowed around Rs 1.5 lac from locals during the marriage of his daughter and was finding it difficult to repay the debt.
