SRINAGAR: The ministry of home affairs on Saturday released fresh guidelines for Unlock 4 that will come in force from September 1.
According to guidelines, the schools, colleges, educational and coaching institutions will continue to remain closed for students and regular class activity up to September 30, 2020. However, online and distance learning will continue.
It said that social/academic/sports/entertainment/cultural/religious/ political functions and other congregations will be permitted with a ceiling of 100 people from September 21.
States/UTs can call up to 50% of teaching and non-teaching staff to be called to the schools at a time for Online teaching/tele-counselling and related work, in areas outside containment zones only, with effect from September 21, 2020. A standard Operating Procedure (SOP) will be issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW).
An official statement said that students of classes 9 to 12 will be permitted to visit their schools in areas outside the Containment Zones on a voluntary basis for taking guidance from their teachers. “This will be subject to the written consent of their parents/guardians,” it added.
It further said that higher education institutions for research scholars (PhD) and post-graduate students of technical and professional programmes requiring lab/experimental works can be permitted by the department of higher education in consultation with MHA.
