8 injured in clashes after forces resort to ‘aerial’ firing in Pulwama village

Eight civilians have been reported injured in intense clashes with forces in Samboora area of southern Kashmir’s Pulwama district Friday morning.

Reports reaching here said that forces launched a search operation and stopped vehicular movement in the area after suspected movement of militants in the area.

They said that forces cordoned off Samboora area and launched a massive search operation in Galander area.

“Forces fearing a militant attack stopped scores of vehicles on the highway, people protested against this ‘unnecessary harassment’.

Forces, they said, resorted to aerial firing and teargas shelling on the protesters.

Two of the injured have been shifted to SMHS hospital in Srinagar for treatment.

Meanwhile, clashes and protests have spread to many neighbouring areas.
