SRINAGAR: In a wee-hour encounter between the militants and a mixed column of the security grid, three militants have been killed. The encounter was reported from a Shopian village, Munjh Marg.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police gave information in a series of tweets. It said the three slain militants belonged to the proscribed Lashkar outfit and were involved in the killing of Kashmiri Pandit Shri Purana Krishna Bhat, Till Bahadur Thapa of Nepal.
The police spokesman quoted ADP Kashmir identifying two of the three slain militants as Lateef Lone of Shopian and Umer Nazir of Anantnag. The recoveries include an AK 47 rifle and two pistols, ADGP Kashmir said.
