SRINAGAR: Curfew was imposed in Bhaderwah town in Doda district on Thursday following communal tension triggered by some social media posts, police said.
“Appropriate action has been taken under the law and a case has been registered against the accused in Bhaderwah police station. Those who take the law into their hands will not be spared,” news agency IANs quoted a police source as having said. “A purported video showing instigating announcements being made from a mosque in Bhaderwah was posted by miscreants on the social media,” said the report.
NDTV reported that while the security grid is maintaining vigil, the army has been asked to hold a flag march in the town.
Police said they have registered two cases in connection with some hate speeches and investigations have started. There is no report of any violence from any side of the town.
