SRINAGAR: Two cows and a calf were charred to death in a blaze that broke out in Nishat area of Srinagar.
Quoting official sources the news agency KNO reported that fire broke out in a cowshed, belonging to Farooq Ahmad Rather, son of Ghulam Muhammad of Dood Mohalla Nishat in the intervening night of Sunday-Monday.
They said that two cows and a calf were charred to death in the incident, adding that the fire engulfed another house, which belongs to Shams-ud-din Dar, son of Abdul Salam, damaging the rooftop of the house.
The fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the flames, they said.
