The second day of the Budget session of Jammu and Kashmir assembly began on Tuesday amid uproar by the opposition parties seeking a debate on the recent civilian killings in Kashmir.

The members of the opposition parties created ruckus while seeking a debate on the killing of nearly a hundred civilians during the recent uprising.

The legislators were chanting slogans like “qatil sarkar hai hai” and “mout ka hisab do”.

Meanwhile, former CM Omar Abdullah said there was no comparison between 2010 and 2016 agitations.

Speaking on the second day of budget session, Omar said that he didn’t blame Pakistan or the opposition for 2010 unrest when he was the chief minister of the state.

“Unlike Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti I didn’t blame the parents for the killing of their children. We can’t compare 2010 situation with 2016. I never blamed my officers for 2010. In 2016, media was also attacked. Newspaper offices were raided,” said Omar.

He blamed CM Mehbooba for failing to restore normalcy in Kashmir post the killing of July 8 killing of Burhan Wani.

“You blamed Jawahar Lal Nehru, my father, grandfather and police (for giving birth to militancy in the state). Did you ever blame yourself for your failure to restore normalcy in Kashmir?” he asked.
