After massive uproar by the opposition in Jammu and Kashmir assembly, Jammu & Kashmir assembly Speaker Kavinder Gupta Tuesday allowed a discussion on Kashmir uprising in the House.

As soon as the house began today, the opposition members stood on their feet and raised anti government slogans.

Initiating the debate, Omar Abdullah blamed the government for mishandling the situation and said that there was confusion whether the CM was aware about the Burhan Wani encounter.

He said that ADGP CID in his press conference stated that the Chief Minister was briefed about such encounter and said that his statement was later modified by the government wherein it was stated that the CM is not briefed at every incident.

He said that being a father and Mehbooba Mufti being a mother, she could better understand how difficult it would be control the children at a certain stage.

At least 100 civilians were killed and 15000 were injured in force’s actions after militant commander Burhan Wani’s killing triggered a massive uprising in the valley after July 8, 2016.
