Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri on Saturday informed the Legislative Assembly that the matter regarding reservation in promotions for the Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribe categories in government services is presently sub-judice in the Supreme Court of India.
The Minister said this while intervening in the Lower House during the debate on Discussion on Demand of Grants of the departments under the charge of Chief Minister after the issue was raised by various legislators.
They members also called for action against the police personal who resorted to cane-charging on protestors of SC and ST categories in Jammu today.
