Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali on Tuesday said that no new permission/ licenses have been granted for Brick Kiln in district Budgam during the past three years.
Replying to a question of Aga Syed Ruhullah in the House, the Minister said that illegal brick kilns have been closed in Budgam and officers of FCS&CA, Revenue, Police and Geology and Mining are regularly monitoring the activities of the Brick Kilns to prevent violation of Brick Kiln Act.
“The permission for excavation has been restricted and is granted only in rare cases of Government/ developmental works that too only after verification of the title of the land, site and actual requirement,” he informed the house adding revised J&K Brick Kiln Rules 2017 will be issued soon.
