Dir FCS&CA takes stock of availability of food-grains, essentials

To take stock of the availability and distribution of essential commodities to the people in the valley, the Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FSC&CA), Tassaduq Jeelani on Saturday convened a meeting here.

The meeting was attended by the officers of the Department, besides representatives of FCI and various Oil companies.

During the meeting, it was given out that sufficient stocks of food grains and other essential commodities are available at various godowns of the Department and FCI which would suffice for the next two months. The representatives of Oil Companies also told that LPG and other petroleum products are also available in sufficient quantity at all depots.

It was further informed that, 3.65 lakh qtls of rice/atta, besides 20.52 lakh liters of K.Oil and 4.40 lakh LPG cylinders have been distributed to the consumers during the current month so far.

Speaking on the occasion, the Director, FCS&CA, Tassaduq Jeelani impressed upon the concerned officers to ensure availability of food-grains and essential commodities to the consumers, besides ensure regular market checking and book those found in profiteering and hoarding.
