Legislative Assembly Monday started amid chaos as opposition members cornered government over alleged ‘failure of the government to restore roads and essential supplies’ in the valley.

All the members of opposition stood up from their benches and started raising their demands in unison.

Opposition also moved an adjournment motion to discuss the situation in Kashmir, but it was rejected by the speaker stating that the issue has been discussed earlier.

“We raised same issue in the house on Saturday and government gave us misleading details,” said NC’s Ali Mohammad Sagar.

Banihal MLA, Vikar Rasool termed the situation post snow as catastrophic and said that no road except of the town has been cleared in his constituency.

Legislator from Kargil, Asgar Ali Karbalaie said that in his constituency ‘even main roads have not been cleared’.

Opposition raised slogans of “Baikaar Sarkaar Hai Hai” as they assembled in the well of the house and later walked out.

Meanwhile, education minister and spokesperson of the government while talking with the reporters outside house said that ‘opposition is making issue out of nothing’.

“All the major roads have been cleared. Opposition has no issue to raise so they resort to meaningless ways,” he said.

Akhter said, “Snow is falling and is good for our people, they are making issue when everything is in order.”
