Hurriyat Conference (G) chairperson, Syed Ali Geelani, Thursday said India has no moral right to celebrate its republic day as it has been trampling the basic rights of people for last 70 years.
“Thanking people for observing shutdown, Geelani said that it proved beyond any doubt that people in state have nothing to do & are not interested with this and they are all out against the forced occupation.”
In a statement issued here, while referring to Governor’s address, the octogenarian leader said that it depicts their age-old obstinate and egoistic attitude and it is better for them to understand the message carried and conveyed by people’s uprising in year 2016.
Ridiculing the rulers’ approach, Geelani said that instead of taking note of the aspirations of people, they resort to “brute force” and with its military might are desperate to silence the genuine voices.
Commenting over governor’s address, Geelani said, “We resent and express our feelings through peaceful means and we are not craving for shutdown calls or protesting on streets. It is natural discourse and we will continue our fight and show our resentment till the last solider leaves our state.”
The Hurriyat patriarch said that governor’s address was nothing but jugglery of words. “It is their routine exercise, yet carry’s nothing except arrogance.”
While referring to the inflexible stance of New Delhi, Geelani said that natural law exists there and it is expected that the harsh approach of India will lead it to astray.
