As Kashmir remained shut for months together after the killing of popular militant commander Burhan Wani in July last year, Chief Minister said that 80 percent of the government employees made it to Civil Secretariat and 55 percent in other offices.
In a written reply, the CM stated, “In respect to the departments in the Civil Secretariat, around 80 percent attendance of the government employees was recorded and around 55% in the government offices of the rural areas during the initial period of the unrest in the year 2016.”
However, through the constant efforts of the government, “The attendance of the employees gradually improved and reached to the normal level.”
CM’s reply also states that losses incurred in that period as “recovery on account of fees, receipts etc in the revenue department got affected as general public could not come forward.”
