A fresh avalanche warning has been issued for Kashmir, Ladakh and Chenab valley regions of the Jammu and Kashmir state. The warning comes in the wake of persistent bad weather.

Divisional administration issued the high avalanche warnings for hilly areas in Baramulla, Kupwara, Kulgam, Ganderbal, Shopian, Islamabad, Leh and Kargil districts, advising people living there not to venture out of their homes till the warnings were withdrawn.

Meanwhile, authorities on Saturday issued an avalanche and mudslides warning after rains and snow lashed the upper and lower reaches of the Chenab Valley.

Current week has seen over a dozen deaths due to avalanches in the valley.

People have been warned to remain careful to avoid any untoward eventuality.

After a brief relief from bad weather, snowfall mixed with rain resumed this morning in many parts of the state.
