Prof Bashir A Dabla
Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Thursday expressed grief over the untimely demise of noted sociologist and former Head of Kashmir University’s Sociology Department, Prof Bashir Ahmad Dabla.
In his condolence message, Mufti Sayeed recounted the immense contribution of the late academician in the field of sociology.
“In his death,” he said, “the state has lost a scholar of international repute whose books and research papers threw light on various aspects of Kashmir’s society.”
“Filling the void left behind by Prof Dabla will be very difficult to fill,” he said, while paying rich tributes to the deceased educationist.
The Chief Minister conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved family members and prayed for peace to the departed soul, an official statement said.
