Man found dead in Chandoosa, Suspected Relative Absconding

Baramulla police Friday registered a case and took up investigation into the death of a man whose body was found in a Maize field in Nagbal, Chandoosa in the jurisdiction of police station Chandoosa this morning, a police statement said.


“Locals of Nagbal, Chandoosa informed police that body of a villager Javed Ahmad Para son of Ghulam Rasool resident of Nagbal, Chandoosa is lying in a nearby maize field. A police party of police station Chandoosa rushed to the spot and recovered the body. The body bore injuries on the buttocks,” the police statement said.


A case FIR no. 26/2014 under section 302/RPC was registered in Police Station Chandoosa and investigation was taken up. The body was sent for post mortem, it informed.


“During post mortem it was found that the deceased was hit by pellets apparently from a 12-bore rifle and the death of the youth was caused by excessive blood loss,” it said.


“During preliminary investigation, it surfaced that the deceased had left last evening with his relative Mohammad Ibrahim Tantray son of Saif-Ud-Din resident of same village to scare away wild animals from the maize field along with a licensed 12 bore gun of the relative. The said person is absconding and Police has started a search for him,” it added.
