Locals clash with forest protection force in Tosa Maidan

At least fifteen persons including 10 forest protection force men were injured after clashes were broke out at Tosa Maidan area in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday late afternoon.


A senior police official told GNS that forest protection force men stopped the construction work by the local residents at Tosa Maidan near army’s firing range.


As the forest protection force tried to dismantle the structures in the area, the locals started pelting stones on the forest team injuring at least 10 of them, the official said.


Meanwhile, police rushed to the area to control the situation, they fired few teargas shells and use batons, he said, adding that five persons received minor injuries in the action.
