Taking a jibe on those politicians who believe in frequent floor-crossing and change guards for their personal benefits, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Monday said that ‘Aya Ram Gaya Ram’ (Ram comes, Ram goes) tactics are used by politicians who leave the party after not getting mandates.
Omar Abdullah was speaking on Obituary reference in Legislative Assembly and while paying glorious tribute to the 4 politicians who breathed their last between the 11th and 12th Assembly session, Abdullah, according to CNS, said that these people never changed their political parties and they ended where from they had started.
“These people didn’t believe in Aya Ram, Gaya Ram. Today when you don’t award mandate to any person, he defects from the party as for them no mandate no party mantra is important,” he said.
Omar Abdullah said that the departed leaders including Choudhary Muhammad Aslam and Abdul Ahad Vakil, former Minister Muhammad Akbar Ganaie and former MLA and educationist Mehmooda Ahmed Ali Shah never abused and misused their power and position and, “we should learn a lesson from them.”
“You can’t raise finger on these people as they never abused their position. Late Abdul Ahad Vakil, former Speaker always spoke his heart out and put forth his thoughts without appeasing party leader. These days we see how politicians see eye to eye with his party leader even if his party leader may be wrong as they never want to disappoint their leader and pursue appeasement strategy,” he said.
