A case of sedition has been registered in a Court of Allahabad against, Hurriyat (JK) leader Shabir Ahmad Shah for meeting Pakistan High Commissioner in New Delhi, Abdul Basit on August 18.
A statement issued by the Freedom Party here on Monday said, “Notwithstanding the cancellation of secretary level talks between India and Pakistan, the communal elements of India have moved a step forward to satisfy their communal conscience.”
“Now they (India), on the suggestions of one communal advocate Sushil Kumar, have registered a case of sedition against the Pakistani High Commissioner Abdul Basit and Freedom Party chairman and Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir leader Shabir Ahmad Shah for holding talks in New Delhi last week,” the statement added.
The spokesperson has termed such step as “foolish and frustration”. “This step tantamount of waging a war against the whole state of Kashmir and is the worst example of political vengeance. Such suppressive tactics will not prevent freedom fighters and Shabir Ahmad Shah from pursuing their goal of independence,” the statement said.
The government has in the past tried such tactics but to no avail,” the spokesperson said.
He said the more the government tries to suppress the ongoing freedom movement of Kashmiris, the more momentum the movement will gain.
