Training its guns at Congress, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) Sunday said, Congress is a communal party and has a communal agenda of vote-bank politics in India. The party also revealed that some top leaders of Jammu and Kashmir are willing to join the BJP.
In an exclusive talk with Kashmir News Service (KNS), Senior BJP leader and Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan said, “There is a perception among the people that BJP is a communal party but let me tell you that in fact, the Congress is the most communal party and has a communal agenda for vote-bank politics”.
“Claiming that many top leaders of Kashmir are willing to join Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) Radha said, “Anybody who believes in the BJP ideology and trusts the party can join it anytime. Many top Muslim brothers and sisters of J&K are willing to join us now and we are welcoming them with open arms,” he said.
When asked about the BJP’s poll strategy for the Jammu and Kashmir he said that Union minister will visit the Kashmir valley during the course of election campaigning. “We are well placed in Jammu region. Our focus is now on Kashmir and Ladakh. We are sure that Kashmiris too would vote for change,” he said and added that the input party is getting from Kashmir Valley is going to “spring big surprises” for BJP.
Asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and GOI wants to win over the hearts and minds of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Union Minister who was on his first visit to the State as Agriculture minister, said that people in J&K have passed through a difficult phase and now it’s time to improve their quality of life.
“It is our wish and our responsibility to improve the quality of life of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and meet their aspirations, provide jobs to youth, and reach out to the last man in line,” he said and added that BJP objective is to win the hearts of the people of Jammu and Kashmir through various means.
On his visit to Kashmir he said, “today I visited the SKUAST and took a review meeting with the officials of the state government over the many issues related to Agriculture sector.”
He also said that the BJP party will soon frame a plan for the unemployed youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
“I laid the foundation stone for the Saffron Park Project in Pampore area of Pulwama district. The saffron park is coming up at the cost of Rs. 24.54 crore.”
“I was surprised about the reports that area under saffron cultivation was declining from about 5,707 hectares in 1996 to just 3875 hectares in 2010-11. Horticulture is among vibrant sectors of J&K’s economy. However, a large number of saffron fields have become senile on account of low plant population,” he said and added that in order to overcome problem, the project for economic revival of J&K saffron sector has been implemented in a mission mode.a
