Forest employees on strike from 5 days

Keeping in view the strike call given by the forest employees for the fulfilment of their pending demands with the state government, government Monday directed secretary forests to hold talks with the protesting employees.


According to the KNS correspondent, non-gazetted forest employees association is on a strike call and is asking the state authorities to fulfil its pending demands. The association said that it wants removal of the pay anomaly, regularization of the daily wagers inducted since 1994, risk allowance and two and half Sundays.


They stated that that on 10 June, the state government assured them that the issues will be released in 15 days. They added that none of their issues were resolved.


They maintained further that they have stopped the supply of timber as their employees are on strike.


Meanwhile, forest minister Mian Altaf when contacted said that the issue has been brought into the notice of the government and that he has directed the secretary forests to hold talks with the protesting employees so that the issue could be resolved amicably.
