Cable Operator Dies of Electrocution, Another in Scuffle

SRINAGAR


A cable operator employee died after he received electric shock while repairing the cable in Bemina area last evening, a police statement said on Sunday.


“The cable operator employee of C.N Channel Showkat Ahmad son of Ghulam Mohammad Akhoon resident of Bemina Srinagar received electric shock and fell from an electric Pole while repairing the cable at Jhelum Market, Srinagar,” the statement said.


The injured was shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar where he succumbed to his injuries, it added.


Meanwhile, a 65 years old man died during a scuffle over a land dispute in Chrar-i-Sharief Budgam, police said.


“A scuffle over a land dispute took place between two parties at Fotlipora, Chrar-i-Sharief Budgam. During the scuffle 65 years old Mohammad Akbar Lone son of Abdul Aziz resident of Fotlipora Pakherpora fell unconscious. He was shifted to Sub District hospital, Pakherpora where doctors declared him brought dead.”
