Hurriyat (G) leader and Muslim League president, Masrat Alam Bhat was released in the open court by Tehsildar Srinagar on Saturday.
Masrat was languishing in jail since October 18, 2010.
A Muslim League spokesman told Kashmir Life that the party had moved a bail application in the said court and as soon as Masrat was produced before it, the court issued his release orders.
Masrat was undergoing detention in the district jail Baramulla under a case registered under sections 107 and 151 in the police station Shaheed Gunj, Srinagar.
Pertinently, Masrat lead the 2010 uprising by issuing protest calendars.
“Masrat Sahab reached home just now after a long detention,” Rafiq Ganai, the Muslim League spokesman informed Kashmir Life.
