India Pakistan exchange firing on IB

KL Report

JAMMU

Indian and Pakistani troops exchanged firing along the international border (IB) in Jammu region, sources said on Wednesday.

Defense sources said that Pakistani Rangers “resorted to unprovoked firing” in Suchetgarh area in Samba district Tuesday afternoon.

Pertinently, the said sources had Tuesday declined to comment on the incident.

“The firing by Pakistan Rangers started around noon and continued for 15 minutes,” they said and added they (Pakistani troops) used automatics and light weapons.

“Our troops responded with equal calibre weapons,” they said.

While the Indian Army guards the Line of Control (LoC) that divides Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan, the BSF is posted along the international border.
