Man apprehended with pistol in Budgam

The forces on Monday apprehended a man along with a pistol in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, official sources said.


They said police’s Special Operation Group, army’s 35 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and 43 Battalion Central Reserve Police after receiving specific input cordoned off Vill Mammat near Imambada in Budgam. “On seeing the troops approaching, a suspect tried to flee but was apprehended,” sources said.


He was arrested and identified as Tariq Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Hamid Mir resident of Pakherpura.


“A Chinese pistol and four live rounds have been recovered from him,” they said, adding a case has been registered in this regard. (GNS)
