Jammu temperature reaches 44 degree Celsius

JAMMU


44 degree Celsius temperature was recorded in Jammu, the highest of the season, hitting normal life in the winter capital.


MeT office sources said this is five degrees above normal temperature.


“The maximum temperature rose to 44 degrees Celsius which is five notches above normal,” they said.


The highest ever temperature for the month of June in Jammu city was recorded 47.2 degrees Celsius in 1953.


The Met Office has forecast a marginal increase in the maximum temperature in Jammu during the next few days.


The intense heat wave conditions affected normal life in the otherwise commercially busy city. Little business operated during the daytime as people chose to remain indoors.
