SRINAGAR
Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Association has said that they have not ruled out resign en-masse and deliberations are on over the issue.
The General Secretary of Panchayat Body, Khursheed Ahmad Malik told GNS that deliberations over resignation are on and final decision is yet to be taken. “We have not ruled out resign en-masse. The deliberation process is on,” he said.
“Today we met two pro-freedom leaders and in the coming days we will meet other pro-freedom leaders, civil society, Kashmir Economic Alliance, Doctors’ Association and others. We will hear what they have to say and in the end we will take final decision,” he said. “If resignation would be ultimate solution, we will leave honorably.”
He accused mainstream parties of exploiting Panchayat members. “We want to expose them. They made us powerless because we are threat to them. We are barriers for them in loot and that is why they are not in favor of grass root democracy,” he said.
