Traffic police issues route Plan for Mehraj-ul-Alam (SAW)

SRINAGAR


To ensure smooth movement of traffic in Srinagar city on the eve of Mehraj-ul-Alam (SAW), the Traffic Police, Srinagar issued traffic plan for all types of vehicles transporting devotees from different destinations.


According to the plan the vehicles including passenger vehicles carrying devotees shall adopt routes from Lal Chowk-SRTC Bridge-Ikhwan Crossing-Police Station Khanyar-Bohri Kadal-Rajouri Kadal-Gojwara Chowk-Hawal-Shree Bhat-Bagh-i-Ali Mardan-Lal Bazar-Dargah Hazratbal and these vehicles shall enter into University campus through Sir Syed Gate and shall remain parked in the area of University Campus near Convocation Hall and also in the parking area inside NIT.


The vehicles carrying devotees of North Kashmir i.e. Baramulla, Kupwara, Handwara, Bandipora and Budgam shall adopt following routes.


Bemina-Bye Pass-Toto Ground-Qamarwari-Cement Bridge-Noor Bagh-Sakidagar-Sazgaripora-Hawal-Alamgari Bazar-Lal Bazar-Dargah Hazratbal.


The devotees coming from South Kashmir Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama and Awantipora towards Dargah Hazratbal shall adopt the following routes.


Pantha Chowk-Sonwar Bazar-Gupkar Grand Palace-Nishat-Foreshore Habak-Dargah Hazratbal and these vehicles shall remain parked in the area of Kashmir University from Naseem Bagh side.


The devotees coming from Ganderbal, Kangan and Bandipora towards Dargah Hazratbal shall adopt Zakura-Pandach route and these vehicles shall remain parked in the area of Kashmir University from Naseem Bagh side.


Return Routes


All vehicles carrying devotees shall adopt on the return from Dargah Hazratbal Shrine, the routes NIT-Aishahi Bagh Crossing-Rainawari-Khalifapora-Nowpora Bridge-Khayam Chowk (Right)-Ikhwan Crossing-SRTC Crossing.


The South Kashmir bound vehicles shall take left turn at SRTC Crossing along Moulna Azad Bridge Dalgate towards Pantha Chowk and also Nishat Foreshore road. However, the vehicles bound for North Kashmir will be diverted at Khalifapora towards Peer Dastigeer Sahib Khanyar-Sumkachbal-Police Station Khanyar-Nalamar Road Qamarwari for their respective destinations.


The vehicles carrying for devotees from Harwan, Islamabad and Pulwama may adopt the Dal Foreshore road and devotees arriving from Kangan and Ganderbal areas shall de-board near Naseem Bagh and take the same route back.


No vehicle shall be allowed to play against the route and shall adopt the same route as per schedule given. This route plan shall remain in force on May 26 and May 29, 2014 from 1700 hours and May 27 & May 30, 2014 from 0400 hours.
