Army, police had a scuffle in Sonemarg, 5 injured

SRINAGAR


Police and army men had a scuffle in the world famous tourist resort, Sonemarg, Friday resulting in the injuries to 5 police men.


According to reports, the vehicle of High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS) after hitting a sumo fled the spot and after the sumo driver filed a complaint in this regard in police station Sonamarg, cops swung into action and arrested the involved HAWS personal and detained the HAWS vehicles at police station Sonamarg.


On the occasion the HAWS personal got irritated resulting in a scuffle between police and HAWS men. The scuffle ended on the injuries to five police cops.


The injured cops were identified as Assitnant Sub Inspector Abul Ahad; Constable Tabasum Ahmad; Constable Javid Ahmad; Constable Altaf Ahmad and SPO Ashiq Ahmad. Sources said that HAWS men also snatched a rifle from one of the police cops.


Police have confirmed the incident. Sources said that the investigation has been started in the matter.


Pertinently, The High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS) is a training and research establishment of the Indian Army. It trains Army personnel in high altitude mountain warfare.
