National Conference (NC) Monday held a meeting of its core group to take a feedback from the members about the debacle in the recently held Lok Sabha polls.
Sources in the party said that it was a sort of “introspection” on part of the party about the failure by the hands of PDP in the valley. The meeting was held at the party head office in Srinagar.
Political advisor to the Chief Minister, Tanveer Sadiq told Kashmir Life that the Chief Minister had already announced on the election result day that he will be holding series of meetings with his party members to find out the reasons of defeat. “Today’s meeting was a part of that effort,” Tanveer said.
Sources said that the meeting was presided over by the party patron, Dr Farooq Abdullah who lost by the hands of Tariq Hameed Karra from Srinagar-Budgam constituency.
Sources said the meeting was attended by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, all the cabinet ministers and senior party leaders.
They added that Dr Farooq asked for the feedback from his party leaders about the worst-ever-show during the Lok Sabha polls.
Another party meeting is scheduled for Tuesday in which all the district and block presidents have been directed to participate.
