Army trooper shoots self-dead with his service rifle

An army MAN committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle at Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar city in central Kashmir on Tuesday.


Official sources told GNS that Naik Surjeet Kumar of 53/19 Regiment, posted at Pandrehthen army camp in Pantha Chowk area, shot himself with his service rifle. “After hearing gunshot his colleague rushed to him where he was found lying in pool of blood,” they said.


The Naik, a resident of Muzafarpur, Bihar was immediately shifted to army’s 92 hospital here in Badamibagh where doctors declared him brought dead, sources added.
