SRINAGAR
The Army is concerned about the rising dog biting incidents in Kashmir valley. GOC, 15 Corpus, Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh told Srinagar based news-gathering agency that seven lakh canines in Kashmir Valley are on prowl.
“Its hearting to see poor people getting bitten by dogs all across Kashmir valley. I was saddened when dogs took away the life of a child in Uri and it really hurt me,” Singh said.
He said that Army has already started six Dog Bite treatment centres in Srinagar and neighbouring districts.
“My unconditional support is for those poor people who become prey of dogs. We launched the dog biting treatment centres at Haft Chinar, BB Cantonment, Khanabal, Baramulla and Drugmulla after realizing the magnitude of the problem,” GOC said adding that all cases of dog bite will get the vaccine and immunoglobulin free of cost.
