Srinagar: Clashes erupted in Pulwama town in southern part of Kashmir after police used tear smoke shells to break up a demonstration of students.

Reports quoting witnesses said that students staged a protest outside the police station in Pulwama town to demand release of their colleagues arrested during past week’s clashes.
However, police fired tear smoke canisters to break up the demonstration of the students, triggering clashes.
The clashes resulted in the closure of some parts of the town.
