People from far off places poured in Ratusuna to pay tributes to top Hizbul Mujahideen Commander.
While Kashmir is observing first day of holy month of Ramazaan people braved summer heat to reach Tral to attended Sabzar’s funeral.
However, a large number of people missed the funeral. A photojournalist who travelled to Tral to cover the funeral said they were informed that funeral would be held at 11:00 in morning but the funeral was held at 9:00 AM. “Large number of people could not offer funeral prayers because they reached the funeral spot after 9 as they were not informed about change in funeral time,” the photojournalist said.
Local correspondent reports said that people chanted pro-freedom slogans at the funeral. “A militant surfaced at the funeral and led a sloganeering session at the funeral,” witnesses said.
Sabzar and his collegue Faizan Muzzafar were killed in an encounter with forces in Saimu village on Saturday morning.
Sabzar was laid to rest in his native village Rathsuna, reports said.
