Srinagar: The Supreme Court of India has asked the Jammu and Kashmir government and the union government to convene a meeting and file a report over the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on identification of religious minorities and granting them due benefits, reports said on Monday.
The next date for hearing in the case has been fixed as July 31.
A bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Jagdish Singh Khehar was hearing a PIL filed by Ankur Sharma.
In the last hearing, the top court had asked the Union of India and the state of Jammu and Kashmir to file a Joint proposal to resolve the problems and issues faced by minorities in the state.
