Awami Ittehad Party chief and independent MLA Er Rasheed Tuesday condoled the death of JKLF chief Amanullah Khan who expired this morning in Rawalpindi.
In a statement issued here Rasheed said that Amanullah Khan stood against the wind during the times when those who today claim to be the lone “warriors” of resistance movement found no harm in contesting elections under Indian constitution.
Rasheed said, “People may differ with his ideology and way of working but he was the one who never fought any elections in Azad Kashmir arguing that whole of J&K is a disputed territory. He lived a very simple life and stood by his principles but unfortunately like many nationalist Kashmiris was often misunderstood. He kept resistance movement alive from his childhood and by his all acts was a born rebellion. Kashmiris will truly miss a man who stood for them and will always remember him. He was the one who used to talk about the necessity to resolve Kashmir dispute at times when nobody would even dare to speak a word on Kashmir.”
